Lots of Drama

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this school year, I am not only a part of the English department, but i'm now also a part of the Arts department. Students in my class are in grades 6-8, and have varying artistic and English language speaking abilities. Our second project this quarter was to write and produce a play based on a special moment in their lives. They grouped up and brainstormed many ideas! In the end, we had four mini plays based on a student's first trip to New York, another student's trip to Italy, a student's first time trying Japanese food, and another student's first soccer match. They were all delightful stories and performances. I'm grateful they shared these experiences with their classmates and I. Everyone bonded over the excitement of these experiences.
